Frederikke Jul Vedelsby (born in Copenhagen, DK) is working across drawing, text, and time-based media. In her work, she is accessing expanded states of consciousness, suggesting irregularity, and addressing the limitations of understanding itself.
Her drawings acknowledge somatic experience- and knowledge exchange that happens beyond her intellect and across bodies and time. In her 16mm films, the people with whom she is filming practice awareness, as opposition to a society ruled by capital, one-directionality, and efficiency. The filming is a collaborative process with the individuals featured. Both with and without a camera, they are in conversation, investigating extraordinary vision and the connections between things.
Her recent solo exhibitions include “See Girls” at ERGO (GR) and Precious Us at Matteo Cantarella (DK).
At PAiR, Frederikke will work on a new video drawing- and text-based work, involving her body, and the landscape in which PAiR is located.
