Vika Eksta (1987) is a Latvian artist and teacher. Vika combines documentary and fictitious messages in her works, working with photography, moving images and archival materials. Studied photography with Andrejs Grant and EFTI photo school in Madrid, obtained a master’s degree in visual communication at the Latvian Academy of Arts. Vika is the winner of ADC Young Guns, FK Portfolio and Riga Photography Biennale award for young Baltic photographers, nominated for Purvīša award. Since 2014, she has participated in exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, for example in ISSP Gallery, Kaunas Photography Gallery, Alma Gallery, participated in group exhibitions in the Latvian National Art Museum, Kim? At the Center for Contemporary Art and elsewhere. Vika’s works are included in the Latvian National Art Museum, the Latvian Museum of Photography and private collections in Europe and the USA.
