Girts graduated from the Contemporary Dance Art Program of the Latvian Academy of Culture in 2021 and in 2016 obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Political Science, graduating from Riga Stradiņš University. Girts is a stage and performance artist who mainly works in the field of contemporary dance as a performer (“Es eju ārā dārzā” Quadrifrons, 2022) and choreographer (“Mums” in Gertrudes ielas theater, 2021). He is an active member of the contemporary dance association “SIXTH” (“Remember me” Dirty Deal Teatro, 2023) and the Council of Choreographers Association. Has worked together with Elīna Gediņa, Rudolph Gediņs, Jana Jacuka, Elīna Gaitjukeviča, Elmārs Senkovs, Elīza Dombrovska, Jānis Balodis. At the beginning of 2023, as part of voluntary work, he spent time with seniors at the SARC “Rūjienas Senioru māja”, and in the summer he organized movement and rhythm classes for children with autistic spectrum disorders in the “Latvijas Autisma apvienība”. In 2023/2024 plans to spend the academic year studies in Pamplona, ​​Spain at the choreography center “La Faktoria”. In creative practice, he is interested in self-exploration, sexuality and gender.
